Ever been offered a job and felt for some reason it was the wrong choice?

Maybe you started and did not feel welcome.

If you’re like me in this scenario you think it might be something you were doing.

However.

Here’s the kicker.

Chances are it’s not.

Chances are what you’re experiencing is adding up to the sum total of a number of small missteps or mistakes an employer is making around recruiting you and settling you in –  which means among other things, you don’t feel accepted or like you belong.

Today we’re talking on employee attachment with Anthony Sork.

Anthony is an expert on employee attachment and detachment. He has developed the employee attachment inventory – an instrument that measures your perceptions of security, trust and value, acceptance and belonging, that’s now used by many tier-1 corporations and government bodies.

He’s going to break down what could be going wrong, when for example, you feel like you don’t belong.

I don’t know about you, but when I start to talk and I see eyes glaze over – or even worse I get nothing but poker face, I worry.

Is it me?

Is it the interviewer?

This is one of the scenarios where there is only one thing you can control.

You do know what I’m about to say next, don’t you?

Yep – you.

So instead of us just pointing a finger at the problem, today we’re bringing you the author of Lead the Room.

Meet Shane Hatton.

Shane is a communication expert, trainer and speaker.

His background is in strengths-based coaching.

We’re going to ask him questions on amplifying your impact, so instead of just informing people in presentations, meetings and interviews – you influence and inspire them.

Let’s banish the blank faces forever.

So we bring you the best on #CareerCarePackage, don’t we?

Today we’re saddling up to talk transformation with someone who has done something remarkable.

Meet Sarah Taylor.

10 years ago she found herself single and an obese 40-year-old, who then made the choice to try to turn her life around.

She found bodybuilding as a way to do this and went on not only to change her body and mindset in the process, but to win 21 world bodybuilding championship titles internationally.

Are you looking for a job using LinkedIn and following the standard advice about how liking, sharing and commenting will put you on the radar of recruiters and employers.

There’s so much of this advice out there.

I used to give this myself – and I still do.

It’s great to network and support each other – and you can definitely follow up that liking love with a connection request.

But here’s the thing – and it’s what most LinkedIn coaches won’t tell you.

It’s super easy to think you’re making progress towards a job, when in reality you can be sucked into time-wasting on the platform.

My pet theory is this is all a bit addictive.

Yes, you read that number correctly.

And I thought I HAD done a lot of job interviews, but I’ve certainly not interviewed 4887 people.

Today we’re bringing to the Career Care Package operating table a former recruiter, turned Interview Coach – Narmie Thambipillay

We’re going to extract from her exactly what was going on inside her head when she listened to her candidate’s answers.

More importantly, we want to know exactly what you need to do to stand out in this market.
