I don’t know about you, but I grew up in a world where praise was limited.
We were all so hard on ourselves, and by extension had the same high expectations of each other.
So with this negativity and criticism all around it was a tough place to thrive – because without even knowing it, I never felt good enough. And neither did my friends.
But what I do remember from these times, however, is how good I felt when I saw what other people were able to do despite setbacks. Or I saw how they were succeeding and thought I could do that too.
So today in the midst of all the bad Covid news, where we know people are fearful about jobs, we’re talking to Vidhita Jain about her career setbacks and bounce backs.
She came from India, via the UK – facing the usual barricade of no local experience, and needed to rebuild her career in recruitment.
Now with a Covid-led redundancy, she’s volunteering her skills with Jobs For Australia – redefining herself and repositioning her career to take the next step.
I know this will be an interesting discussion and invite you to jump in and join us.
