“Instead of better glasses, your network gives you better eyes.” – Ronald Burt.
I love this saying.
From a job-hunting perspective, I interpret this as meaning, instead of needing a shiny CV – not only does your network let you understand the job market much better, and focus your efforts accordingly – they can see you through different eyes, and recommend you for roles you’ve not even thought about.
That’s so important if your world closes in with rejection after rejection from relying on applying online.
Today we’re delighted to be talking networking with Tom Broxham – Founder of the Broxham Network.
He’s a Canadian, living in New Zealand and a trainer on networking skills.
He’s talking from his lived experience.
On the same day he got his NZ visa, he got an interview and found a job – all through networking.
Now we know most people don’t love networking.
But there are ways to network and see networking that could make it less painful for you.
And who knows, you may even get to enjoy it.
Join us today for what will be a lively and interesting discussion.
