Career Care Package #113 [Nope] There IS no such thing as random good luck. How “serendipity” shaped my global career

by K B , updated on August 24, 2020

This is the episode where we meet the Co-Founder of the School of Hard Knock Knocks and a whole lot of other businesses along the way.

Meet Morry Morgan.

(Anyone who’s come up with a business name like that, wins big tickets in my book)

But all in all Morry is a wisecracking entrepreneur and angel investor who’s enjoyed a global career that’s spanned Scotland, Australia and China.

So we’re talking to him about career happenstance and the part it has played in his career.

What is happenstance I hear you ask?

I like to think this word is an amalgamation of happy-circumstances.

But the official theory runs like this:

“…it’s OK to not always plan, because unplanned events could lead to good careers. At the core of this theory is the fact that unpredictable social factors, chance events and environmental factors are important influences on clients’ lives.”

So rather than developing a strict plan for a goal that’s set in concrete, instead you work with a vague idea – do some positive things in the right direction, being curious about how these things make you feel, just by being active, great things will happen.

Hence happy circumstances!

We’re going to ask Morry about how he’s engineered (if that’s the right term) the happy good fortune he’s enjoyed in his career.

Here’s how you can join us.
