How to Get a Job Fast and Beat Other People

by K B , updated on October 30, 2022

So, you’re looking for tips on how to get hired faster and beat other people?

I’m not going to give you the standard advice you’ll receive from other career experts like how to get your resume in order.

What I’m about to tell you will let you know that constantly tweaking and fixing your CV is not the best advice I can give.

But I will reveal the job search secrets from big data analysis of over 14 Million resumes about the smartest way to search for a job and get to the top of the recruiter’s pile!

You’ll find out how to land a job faster, so you can stop wasting your time sending out hundreds of resumes.

But first, let me tell you exactly what happens when recruiters send out a job into the world.

How Job Posting Works

Recruiters might send a job advertisement out via:

  • Social media
  • Job boards
  • Career sites
  • Recruitment agencies
  • Their employees or Hiring Manager (the person that you might report to) within the company with the aim to get them to refer or recommend potential candidates

About five days later, hundreds of CVs will come in and everyone gets really excited!

But, all CV’s are not viewed in the same way!

Here’s what you need to know.

Job Application Statistics From The Big Data Analysis

What big data research says is if the recruiter receives 100 CVs, 85 of those will come from a job board, career site, recruitment agency, and social media.

Meanwhile, 2 of these CVs will come from the Hiring Manager or an employee within the company.

Sooooo, if you’re looking at the photo below, which pile do you want to be in?

Guess which resume gets read?

Guess which resume comes from a trusted source and is more likely to be put on the shortlist?

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that if you find a way to get recommended or referred, either by a Hiring Manager or somebody who works in the company, you’ve got a much better chance of being interviewed and you’ve got a much better chance of getting the job.

So, how do you get recommended or referred?
