So, earlier this year I launched the Straight to Shortlist Challenge.
I am super proud of launching this – because this is a program that actually gets results for people.
This challenge is all about taking concrete action, not theory.
Instead of me banging on about how you “should” network to tap into the hidden job market and create opportunities for yourself, as you’ll see me do on many places on this blog, I have now launched the Straight to Shortlist challenge where I work with you to make this happen.
This means you’re not left in the dark knowing that you should network.
You’re not left on your own to figure out what you should do, who to contact or what to say when you meet people.
If you’d like to know how Straight to Shortlist (S2S) works in practice, please be introduced to one of my superstar graduatesĀ Sridhar Alahari.
Sridhar is a SAP Analyst who secured a number of meetings for himself as part of S2S, and ended up being recruited from Australia and offered a job he just loves in New Zealand.
This video is raw, unfiltered and unedited.
It’s a conversation we filmed from both our homes after hours.
Sridhar was a skilled migrant, looking for a role in a very crowded market.
He was new to the country.
So on top of settling in, finding his feet and navigating the nuances of a new culture, he needed to find a job – quickly.
NZ’s gain is truly our loss as Sridhar showed himself to be super proactive, curious and willing to push himself out of his comfort zone a little to get results.
Through doing S2S, Sridhar told me his success rate in the end was 80% in reaching out to people and them saying yes to a meeting.
So, watch the video and you’ll find out how the S2S program works and get some great tips on how to approach your job search with confidence, even if you’re completely new to market (AND even if you’re like Sridhar, and describe yourself as a bit shy or reserved).
