Do you have a medical specialty interview soon?
For over 10 years Impressive Interview’s Deborah Barit has helped hundreds of professionals succeed through the extremely challenging process of medical specialty interviews.
Pardon the pun, but her list of medical specialties is impressive.
There are lots of people who’ve tried to imitate her in this area, however Deborah is the only person in Australia with a real depth of experience training in this specialised area.
She now has clients fly in to Australia just to see her for interview training.
She’s constantly innovating to deliver her interview training in more effective ways to suit the needs of medical specialists. Many of her clients have topped the state.
So I am pleased to announce that Deborah has developed an exclusive interview training Master Class.
An area she focuses on in her training is helping visual learners.
It might seem strange that we’re talking about this. However this is a huge problem.
Visual learners really struggle in interview because they are not given any visual cue (for example, a question that is written down), to help them understand the questions. So an interview which is all based on verbal communication, leaves them struggling.
You may not know you are a visual learner.
You may just know that despite your best efforts, you flounder in interview. You might also find yourself preparing for interview like you would for an exam – that is memorising your interview answers.
(If you do try to memorise your answers in interview, your interviewer will actually know that you do this. Read this post if you need to know more about how.)
This interview Master Class is for you, if you:
- try to memorise your answers to every possible interview question and beyond
- find it difficult to stay on topic in interview
- find it difficult to put your sentences in a logical order
- do not understand what the panel or interviewer is actually asking in their questions
- need to see something written down before you understand it
- find it difficult to answer behavioural questions, or identify whether you need to provide an example to demonstrate your knowledge
- find it difficult to integrate information from various sources without seeing how it fits together
A medical specialty interview is not an exam.
There is no perfect answer for you to memorise.
The interview is a formal conversation about how you do your job, based on your experience, knowledge and personal attributes which make up the specialty core competencies.
If you tick one or more of the boxes above, Deborah’s class will help you succeed in interviews.
The interview training Master Class will provide you with the skills to:
- prepare for specialty interview questions through a series of practical exercises using a visual tool
- analyse questions and their components to be able to respond fully to questions
- answer questions which require responses that integrate several core competencies within the one response
- learn techniques on how to understand and answer questions without the assistance of visual cues
- select and structure appropriate examples to demonstrate experience, knowledge and suitability
- answer nuanced and multi-layered questions.
The setting is completely confidential. The class will be challenging, yet support you.
This is a competitive environment. The number of specialist training positions is limited. The selection interview is increasingly more important. Your performance at interview will determine your career success.
