I worked as an outsourced consultant as an assessor, for two large recruitment companies. Even if places like the NAB run their processes in-house, often they may bring in contracted assessors. In terms of fairness, the group exercises I’ve been involved in have been generally judged by a consensus of the assessors ratings, so to some extent it eliminates the any bias of an individual. http://www.managementsanctuary.com/assessment_centre.html

Hi Amber,

I am not sure about the make up of the NAB assessment centres, although you could contact whomever is running them and just ask about the format. Formats can really vary. Some have aptitude tests, group exercises, role plays and interviews, others may throw in an in tray exercise although that's generally for more middle managers. I have had another email about this so I will do some research on what group exercises are being run and post something on the blog.

All the best.

Hi Karalyn,
You mentioned you worked as an assesor, what type of companies was this for? Were you outsourced or did you work for those companies?
Do you happen to know anything about NAB Assessment centres?

Thanks!
