Bootstrapping Your Career book review.

by K B , updated on November 1, 2020

The thing I love about social media is that it puts you in touch with people who share the same interests from all over the world.

This is how I came across Hammad Siddiqui.

Hammad runs a career advice blog HammadSiddiquiBlog.com. He has over 26 years of senior management experience in international organizations and currently works as Deputy Country Director at the Center of International Private Enterprise

Hammad has written a book to help you accelerate your job search and long term career  Bootstrapping Your Career.

He draws from career experts around the world, and his own experiences to bring you insight into understanding such things as your unique selling proposition, networking, career marketing and social media.

A lot of career books fill up white space with fluff.

Hammad does not.

The main thing I like about this book is that it is a no nonsense Very Practical (capital V, capital P) guide with easy to follow tips, case studies and quotes.

Hammad has clearly done a lot of research as he can condense complex ideas into easily understood chunks without losing important detail.

I particularly like his chapter on social media. It’s a short cut guide to everything you need to know about getting started online, including using Twitter and LinkedIn, Facebook and Google Plus.

Check Hammad out on Twitter @hammads and on Facebook here.

Buy the book here.
