Bali Bagus and Good Bye Bali

photo (42)I am back in not so sunny Melbourne, feeling slightly depressed about all the grey skies and chilly air.

I’m now on the normal number 0439 595 687 and the usual karalyn@interviewiq.com.au.

I had a fabulous time and wanted to do a quick public shout out to a few people who made my trip tops.

Firstly, if you’re looking for a trip to India, or you’re a yoga teacher wanting to organise a retreat, I suggest you contact the lovely Meredith Wilks from Tiwari Travel.

Check out her websites for India tours and Yoga retreats.

Meredith kindly acted as my de-facto Bali tour guide, taught me how to negotiate like a local and how to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Thanks to her I got to see places and things I never thought I would.

This is the amazing view from Meme Sarung a mountain top retreat in Munduk, in northern Bali.

(That’s the watermelon juice they serve in arrival)

Meredith goes to great lengths to make trips memorable, and if you ask her nicely she may even pre-sample roadside treats for you 🙂

meredith and sonnyThe other person I’d like to thank is Sonny Juliono, the General Manager at the Maison ATC in Seminyak.

I enjoyed a lovely last night in his new hotel – a peaceful 4 star retreat – think French chic crossed with Balinese warmth – all within walking distance to the best in beach and shopping.

I had a lot of trouble at the Maison trying to get up from the banana lounge and into the pool.

(I eventually succeeded.)

OK, back to work and bye for now.

And back to career (not travel) blogging from next week.
